Bionic Ears for Kids …helping little ears hear big

Hear and Be Heard …then and now

While millions of Americans and Canadians are candidates for cochlear implants (CI), fewer than 10% actually get one. Because you have experienced the joy that hearing with a CI can bring to life, many of you are actively reaching out to educate others as BEA mentors—like Jonathan, from Atlanta!

From preschool to military school…
In 1998, Microsoft released Windows 98, John Glenn returned to space, and five-year-old Jonathan Brilling, who was deaf since birth, received an AB cochlear implant. Today Jonathan is following his grandfather's military footsteps as a senior at Riverside Military Academy. Additionally, he is a salesman for Cutco knives, a job which requires him to book appointments via phone, conduct presentations, and listen to numerous customers. Jonathan's mother credits his hearing and speech for many of his accomplishments. For more information on Jonathan or to connect with him, go to www.BionicEar.com/CTM.
