Overview
Harmony BTE

Turning the Harmony On and Off
Placing the PowerCel™ Battery on the processor turns the processor on. To turn the processor off, remove the PowerCel.
PowerCel™ Battery
The rechargeable lithium ion battery slides into place at the base of the processor and provides power to the Harmony System. Charge the PowerCel battery prior to use.
Built-in Microphone
The built-in microphone is located directly behind the base of the earhook and is used when auxiliary input earhooks are not in use or as programmed by your audiologist. This is the microphone used when performing a microphone test.
T-Mic® Microphone Earhook
Detachable auxiliary input earhook microphone that holds the processor on the ear with the tip positioned near the ear opening and takes advantage of the natural sound funneling properties of the ear.
Program Selector
The Harmony can store up to three programs. The selector has three positions, one for each program slot. Program 1 (P1) the selector is all the way down, P2 the selector is in the middle position, and P3 the selector is all the way up.
Volume Dial
Indicator mark on the dial is typically set to the 12 o’clock position (straight up). Turning the dial to the right increases processor volume (louder) and turning the dial to the left decreases processor volume (softer). The range of this control is programmed by your audiologist in software to limit how much loudness or softness turning this dial will permit.
LED Status Indicator
Green, Orange and Red LED lights provide information about the processor status.
- When the PowerCel Battery is initially placed on the processor, the Orange light blinks:
- 4 times to indicate the battery is fully charged
- 2 to 3 times to indicate the battery is partially charged
- 1 time to indicate low battery power
- 0 times (no blinks) if the battery has run out of charge
(Listen through the Built-in Microphone using the Microphone Tester Earphones and the Direct Connect Earhook Setup.)
- When an empty program slot (P1, P2, or P3) is selected, a steady Green light indicates that this program slot is available for microphone testing.
- A steady Red light indicates a processor error condition.
- Depending on the processor programming by your audiologist:
- the Green light flickers in response to loud sounds near the microphone
- the Red light blinks repeatedly if the headpiece falls off and the processor loses “lock” (communication) with the implant
- the Orange light glows steadily when the PowerCel battery is low and needs to be changed soon
