About Advanced Bionics

Advanced Bionics® Corporation is a global leader in developing the most reliable, best performing cochlear implant devices in the world. Founded in 1993, AB is the only American company developing cutting-edge cochlear implant technology that restores hearing to the deaf and allows our recipients to hear their best today, tomorrow, and always. We support patients, clinicians, and physicians through the latest scientific research, technology development, educational resources, attentive customer service, community involvement, and more.

AB evolved from two highly successful companies that developed and marketed innovative medical devices; one created new generation pacemakers, and the other developed microinfusion systems (miniature drug delivery pumps used in the treatment of diabetes). Our talented group of technologists and professionals from all over the world are driven to succeed, work with integrity, and stay firmly committed to quality.

Today, AB remains dedicated to improving lives by developing, manufacturing, and distributing the world’s most reliable, best performing cochlear implant system.

HISTORY

Intrigued by the notion of "helping deaf people hear," Alfred E. Mann founded Advanced Bionics in 1993 and asked Jeff Greiner to lead the fledgling organization of seven engineers and scientists. Since then, Al Mann and Jeff Greiner have been working together to develop state-of-the-art medical technology that improves lives. The seven-person organization they founded has grown to over 600 employees worldwide.

In March 1996, the company received approval from the FDA to market the Clarion® cochlear implant for use in post-lingually deafened adults, and in 1997, received approval to market its cochlear implants for use in children.

Today, AB continues to make industry-leading technological advances with the Harmony® HiResolution® Bionic Ear System (Harmony®). Introduced in 2006, Harmony is the world’s most sophisticated cochlear implant system, using cutting-edge technology to deliver the best possible hearing experience. The Harmony Advantage, only from AB, lets you hear your best everywhere, every time.

AB remains committed to providing recipients with the most reliable, best performing cochlear implant system in the world.
