Hear Your Best with AB Sound Processors

AB sound processors feature sophisticated technology designed to ensure that you or your child hear your best no matter where you are or what you’re doing. So whether you’re studying in a quiet library, dining in a noisy restaurant, listening to a teacher, or enjoying music in a concert hall or via an MP3 player, you can count on your AB sound processor to provide the best possible hearing experience.

How does a Sound Processor Work?

The sound processor of a cochlear implant system is a tiny computer that takes the sound captured by the microphone and converts it into detailed digital information. This digital information is sent to the magnetic headpiece, transmitted to the implant, and then sent to the hearing nerve, which in turn sends electrical impulses to the brain, where they’re interpreted as sound.

The World of Sound in Detail

Imagine hearing better in the real-world situations where you want to connect with the people around you, such as busy offices, crowded cafes, active airports, and packed playgrounds. AB offers the top sound processing technology that optimizes your hearing in everyday settings.

  • HiRes Fidelity 120TM *: Designed to deliver five times more spectral (pitch) resolution (120 spectral bands) than competing sound processors, so you hear more details in speech, music, and more.
  • AutoSoundTM: Designed after the normal-hearing ear, AutoSound adapts dynamically to every sound environment, automatically adjusting volume levels to optimize hearing. With AutoSound you can concentrate on listening instead of making adjustments to your sound processor.
  • Wide IDR (Input Dynamic Range): Designed to enable you or your child to better hear soft speech, speech in noise, and the details of music.
  • ClearVoiceTM *: Automatically analyzes and adapts to every listening situation you or your child encounters, then separates speech from surrounding noise for improved understanding and ease of listening.

*Not approved for pediatric patients in the United States.

Hear Well in Real-World Settings

Most sound processors will perform well in clinical conditions, but you need to hear in the challenging listening settings you encounter throughout the day. To be truly effective, a sound processor must perform well in real-world settings, including in quiet, noisy, and constantly changing environments. It must also be durable enough for the fun and rigorous activities you or your child enjoy. AB sound processors have been developed to help you hear your best in real-world settings. They’re also designed for durability with guaranteeed water resistance and high system reliability.

“I value AB’s reliability, durabilty, and commitment to its product. AB has and continues to offer much more technical capabilities. AB’s entire team provides all the needs, resources, and support.”
