  • This National Deaf Children's Society booklet gives information about cochlear implants, the assessment process and using a cochlear implant to parents and caregivers of children with severe-to-profound hearing loss.
  • This document from the BAA and BSA gives guidance on how to ensure adults are optimally aided so they can get the best possible outcomes with their hearing aids when being assessed for a cochlear implant.
  • The Phonak quick guide to the management of severe-to-profound hearing loss in adults.

  • Gordon Morris provide hearing equipment to use alongside hearing aids and cochlear implants, to support better speech understanding in challenging listening environments.

A Supportive Community

We work closely with a thriving group of volunteer mentors who are AB cochlear implant wearers. In our AB Community everyone 'gets it' because they have been there too. Our AB mentors share their stories, connections and insider tips to lift others up on their hearing journeys. When you refer someone for mentorship, you can expect that we will match them with someone who shares their interests and/or hearing history. When needed we will match people with a small group of Mentors, to offer a range of perspectives and insights.

E-mail hear-uk@advancedbionics.com to request a mentor match today.

Self-referrals are also welcome.
