...the AB cochlear implant has enabled me to do everything that I previously thought was impossible.
HiRes Ultra 3D Cochlear Implant
Your hearing means the world to us. That’s why we at AB have developed the most advanced cochlear implant technology that helps restore sound in a way that feels natural and clear.
Engineers, professional musicians and parents of young children especially choose AB cochlear implants over others. Our technology is proven to provide better speech understanding, especially in noisy places, and overall music enjoyment with better sound quality.1,2,3
Generations of innovation—and we’re just getting started
At AB, our cochlear implants are designed to get better over time. With more than four generations of breakthroughs, our technology consistently provides users with the best in sound quality.
These breakthroughs have been possible due to advanced features, including Current Steering and independent output circuits in all electrodes, not available in any other CI system. As new innovations in sound processing become available, people with AB cochlear implants can upgrade with a device update.
Imagine listening to a piano, where every single note is clear. That’s the experience you’ll have with AB cochlear implants. Our technology gives you the ability to hear five times more pitches than any other cochlear implant on the market,1 offering you a richer, more vibrant range of sound.
For children, it also means the best chance for developing speech and language.4,5,6
AB’s HiRes Ultra 3D Cochlear Implant offers something truly remarkable.
...the AB cochlear implant has enabled me to do everything that I previously thought was impossible.
“I can finally play the other instruments. I can listen to the orchestra without problems, so much so that I can recognize which instrument comes in later than the ensemble. I can hear the nuances of sound from fortissimo to pianissimo. I recognize notes without problems. I can accompany singers. In short, the AB cochlear implant has enabled me to do everything that I previously thought was impossible.”
– Martina Petruccio, pianist
Quality you can trust
The HiRes Ultra 3D cochlear implant is strictly tested to stay safe and durable over time. In fact, it is AB’s most reliable implant ever, and exceeds industry and international standards for impact resistance7 and reliability.8 This way, you or your child can enjoy everyday activities and sports without worry.
I wouldn't be putting it in my patients if I didn't believe that…the new device is as good as it can be.
"With a hearing aid alone, I could not hear high frequencies. After receiving my first cochlear implant in my left ear, I could suddenly hear them! It was like switching from a black-and-white TV to color."
– Sato Shinji, AB recipient
With AB, your cochlear implant is MRI-safe
We created a game-changing design for cochlear implants and MRI safety. The HiRes Ultra 3D Cochlear Implant is the first of its kind to safely allow adults and children to get high-resolution MRI scans.
MRI scans are an important part of healthcare, and a common procedure for doctors to review everything from broken bones to heart disease. Before the HiRes Ultra 3D Cochlear Implant, patients needed to have surgery to remove the magnet before an MRI. Now, high-resolution scans, like 3.0 Tesla MRIs, can be completed without the need for surgery, preparation, or bandaging. With the HiRes Ultra 3D, all you need to do is remove the sound processor before the scan and put it back on afterward – it’s that simple.
Why is it important to have an MRI-safe CI?
